Shiraz 2007
2007 was the year that the drought has so far had its worst effects at Fontenay. I irrigated from October through until early February when the dam dried up, and hot dry weather continued. The result was a very small crop – 70 cases instead of 150. But it concentrated the flavours, and the fruit tastes are intense and the colour deep. Only a little remaining.
