The Wines

The 1 hectare of Shiraz normally produces 150 cases of wine. In this testing highland climate, with very variable seasons, each vintage has been distinctly different.

The 2003 and 2004 were made by Phil Stevenson of Ibis Wines, and Chris Derrez has made the later vintages. The first vintage was in 2003, but the cellar door has sold out of 2003, 2004, 2005, 2006 and 2007. A small amount of these vintages are still available at IGA supermarket and d’Aquino’s in Orange and the Borenore Store, west of Orange between Nashdale and Borenore.

Current vintages are also on sale at IGA, d’Aquino’s and Totally Local and the Union Bank Store.

The half acre of Sauvignon Blanc gave a baby crop in 2009 and we made 40 litres, bottled in half bottles. It shows great promise for the vintages to come.
