Vin d’Orange

Vin d’Orange is made from Moody’s Rosé and Seville and Navel oranges from the Murray Valley, to a secret Provençal recipe passed on to me by Mme Gras in Frejus. Fortified to 18%, it has been steeping in the fruit for three months, and the taste is first sweet and orangey, and the after taste is the clean and sharp effect of the Seville oranges. I think it is the only Orange Wine being made inOrange, Australia, although I would think that quite a bit is made in the farm-house wineries around Orange in France.

The third batch was bottled in March, and there is a good stock remaining.
